Le président Vladimir Poutine a assisté, comme chaque année, à la messe de Noël à l’église de l’Intercession-de-la-Vierge à Tourguinovo où ses parents ont été baptisés en 1911, avant la Révolution bolchévique, et où sa grand-mère a été enterrée, tandis que le Premier ministre russe Dmitri Medvedev a fêté la Nativité dans la Cathédrale du Christ-Sauveur à Moscou. Messe célébrée par le patriarche de Moscou avec de superbes images à visionner ici. Cette cathédrale bâtie en remerciement du reflux de l’armée napoléonienne a été détruite par Staline sous le régime communiste. A la place une grande piscine avait été édifiée. Dés la chute du régime communiste la cathédrale du Christ-Sauveur a été reconstruite à l’identique (mais agrandie d’un immense sous-sol), sa reconstruction était achevée dés 1999 quand Vladimir Poutine à été élu à la présidence de la Russie pour la première fois. Cette immense cathédrale est donc un symbole contrerévolutionnaire de foi, très fort pour les Russes. Cette superbe cathédrale trône en plein centre de Moscou sur une hauteur, comme on peut le voir sur ces images.
Noël chez les orthodoxes est fêté le 6 janvier à minuit, selon le calendrier julien encore utilisé par l’église orthodoxe qui présente 13 jours de décalage par rapport au calendrier grégorien. La Russie compte environ 114 millions de chrétiens orthodoxes, soit près de 80% de la population.
La Russie continue de montrer la voie au monde occidental en pleine décadence.
