« L’ordre hospitalier de San Juan de Dios (Saint-Jean de Dieu) annonce la triste nouvelle du décès ce matin de la sœur Chantal Pascaline causée par Ebola à l’hôpital Saint-Joseph de Monrovia »
La religieuse œuvrait avec le Père Miguel Pajares dans cet hôpital de la capitale libérienne. Le Père Miguel Pajares et sœur Juliana Bonoha sont arrivés jeudi en Espagne à bord d’un avion militaire médicalisé.
Sœur Chantal Pascaline, religieuse congolaise et sœur Paciencia Melgar, religieuse guinéenne, de la congrégation des Missionnaires de l’Immaculée Conception, n’avaient pas pu monter à bord de l’avion militaire espagnol, la directrice générale de la santé publique espagnole, Mercedes Vinuesa, ayant précisé mercredi que ce qui était envisagé par l’Espagne, c’était uniquement le « rapatriement des Espagnols ».
Le Père Miguel Pajares et sœur Juliana Bonoha sont en ce moment hospitalisés sous de strictes mesures de sécurité sanitaire à l’hôpital Carlos III de Madrid.
