La déferlante migratoire entraine un phénomène croissant de violences inter-ethniques. Dans la nuit du 6 octobre 2015, plusieurs violentes bagarres ont éclaté dans des camps pour réfugiés à Hambourg et Brunswick. La police a dû intervenir dans les deux cas. A Brunswick, ce sont quelques centaines d’Algériens et de Syriens qui se sont opposés pour une histoire de vol. À Hambourg, une soixantaine de réfugiés se sont affrontés. Des Albanais auraient voulu imposer une « taxe » pour accéder aux douches. L’affaire s’est réglée à coups de couteau et de barre de fer. Un réfugié aurait brandi un pistolet. On déplore plusieurs blessés. Plusieurs personnes ont été arrêtées. Rainer Wendt, président du Syndicat allemand de la police, a accusé les politiciens de minimiser les informations relatives à la violence et aux agressions sexuelles dans les centres d’hébergement destinés aux réfugiés.
