Alep est désormais libérée des miliciens islamistes des groupes rebelles. Le Centre russe pour la réconciliation en donne la confirmation :
« L’opération de l’armée syrienne pour libérer les quartiers d’Alep du contrôle des miliciens est conclue. » « Les troupes du gouvernement syrien sont en train de liquider des bases séparées de la résistance des radicaux. »
Moscou a également affirmé qu’en outre
« selon les évacués du dernier convoi humanitaire, les quartiers d’Alep Est ont été abandonnés par tous ceux qui le souhaitaient » et « dans certains quartiers sont restés des groupes de miliciens des bandes radicales irréductibles qui continuent à tirer sur les troupes syriennes. »
Le général russe Serghiei Rudskoi, chef du département opérationnel de l’État major russe a expliqué que
« avec le retrait des unités armées d’Alep et avec la conclusion des opérations pour sa libération ont été créées toutes les conditions pour une solution pacifiste du conflit en Syrie. »
Il a par ailleurs défini « un mensonge évident » les informations faisant croire à un massacre de civils durant l’opération à Alep par les troupes loyalistes, soutenues par la Russie.
Rudskoi a affirmé que « certains politiciens occidentaux » rapportent que « les routes de la ville sont pleines de cadavres, pendant que des milliers d’habitants se cachent encore dans les caves. Je peux dire en engageant toute ma responsabilité que cette information est un mensonge manifeste. »
