La question semble à première vue incongrue. Elle reflète pourtant la réalité des exigences des lobbies représentants des minorités qui veulent toujours plus de visibilité.
Ainsi, sous prétexte que pour la deuxième année de suite, aucun acteur ou actrice noir n’a été nommé aux Oscars, certains ont appelé au boycott de la cérémonie des Oscars.
Les moutons ont suivi les mots d’ordre et le hashtag #Oscarssowhite (les Oscars si blancs) est devenu l’un des plus consultés sur Twitter.
Le cinéaste français Roschdy Zem, réalisateur du film « Chocolat » sur l’histoire du premier clown noir en France, n’a pas manqué de se joindre au troupeau et a déclaré « A chaque fois qu’une communauté, qu’une minorité sera exclue pour une raison qu’on a du mal à expliquer pour le même travail et le même talent, et parfois même plus de talent, il faudra boycotter, ils ont raison ».
L’acteur Omar Sy a également estimé que ce boycott de la cérémonie des Oscars allait « dans le bon sens » et « était légitime« .
