Canal + diffuse en ce moment la saison 2 d’une série télévisée britannique étonnante : Utopia. Etonnante parce que cette série ne manque pas de faire référence à quelques thèses classées « conspirationnistes ».
Lors du lancement de la première saison en Angleterre, le chaîne Channel 4 et la société Kudos, qui produisent la série, avaient mis en ligne une plate-forme numérique présentant diverses théories de conspiration.
L’idée maîtresse du scénario de la série : les pires catastrophes sanitaires qui affectent la planète sont orchestrées par des forces occultes mondialistes.
La saison 2 va plus loin. Un virus grippal menace tous les continents. Un laboratoire met au point un vaccin pour enrayer l’épidémie. Mais ce vaccin -appelé Janus– a, en réalité, pour but d’éradiquer une partie de la population mondiale en stérilisant ceux à qui il est administré.
Le plan consiste à organiser un eugénisme à l’échelle mondiale en choisissant l’élite qui pourra encore enfanter.
Ce scénario fait immédiatement penser à quelques ouvrages comme Le Meilleur des Mondes ou 1984 mais aussi à des propos de Jacques Attali. De quoi rappeler que plus d’un ouvrage considéré comme relevant de la science-fiction est aujourd’hui largement rattrapé par la réalité et que ceux qui les écrivent sont parfois très bien renseignés !
