Etats-Unis – Différentes sectes sataniques sont très actives aux Etats-Unis et usent du concept de liberté religieuse pour obtenir une forme de reconnaissance et une plus grande visibilité.
Parmi ces sectes sataniques, le « Temple Satanique » s’est fait l’allié de Planned Parenthood (l’équivalent du planning familial aux USA) et mène différentes actions en faveur de l’avortement.
Les militants satanistes viennent notamment fréquemment perturber des rassemblements pro-vie.
Mais le « Temple Satanique » avait également saisi la justice pour contester la législation sur l’avortement en vigueur dans le Missouri. L’action en justice avait permis aux satanistes d’obtenir une couverture médiatique dans les journaux télévisés.
Le 22 septembre, la cour a heureusement rejeter le recours des satanistes contre les lois du Missouri
Les satanistes prétendaient que les lois sur l’avortement du Missouri constituaient une atteinte à leur liberté religieuse garantie par la Constitution.
Le « Temple Satanique » attend encore les décisions des juges dans deux autres procès similaires, l’un au tribunal de l’Etat et l’autre devant un tribunal fédéral.
À la fin du mois de janvier, l’une de ces affaires a été entendue par la Cour suprême du Missouri, mais aucun jugement n’a encore été rendu.
