Un pervers sexuel a été arrêté en Pennsylvanie. Il s’appelle Lee Kaplan, 51 ans, et la police a découvert 12 filles âgées de 18 ans à six mois dans sa maison.
Il est accusé de l’agression sexuelle d’une adolescente qui lui avait été « donnée » par ses parents, anciens adeptes d’une communauté amish, en échange d’une aide financière. Daniel et Savilla Stoltzfus auraient « offert » leur fille à Lee Kaplan quand elle avait 14 ans. Elle en a aujourd’hui 18 et serait la mère de deux fillettes : le bébé de six mois et une petite fille de trois ans.
L’identité des autres filles doit encore être vérifiée. De même qu’il reste à vérifier si elles ont également été abusées sexuellement.
Au-delà de l’horreur, il apparaît que les médias français ne traitent pas du tout l’information de la même façon que leurs confrères américains ni même israéliens.
Du côté des médias américains et israéliens, Lee Kaplan est présenté comme juif. La version française de Times of Israël titre sans équivoque Un juif détenu pour agression sexuelle d’une ado qui lui avait été « donnée ».
Mais lorsque l’information arrive dans les médias français, Lee Kaplan devient amish, comme les parents indignes. Le Parisien titre Un Amish poursuivi pour le viol d’une jeune fille qu’on lui avait offert « en cadeau ». Même titre pour L’Obs.
Sans doute s’agit-il d’une simple confusion, n’est-ce pas ?
