Elle s’appelle Beatrice Stockly et vivait paisiblement dans cette ville de Tombouctou qui l’a adopté lorsque dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi, elle a vu surgir à son domicile des hommes armés. Selon le responsable du gouvernorat de Tombouctou sur la base d’une source sécuritaire : « Des hommes sont venus chez Béatrice à Tombouctou. Ils étaient armés. Ils ont tapé, elle a ouvert et ils sont partis avec elle ».
Cet enlèvement a laissé de nombreux habitants de cette ville, qui est entrain de renaître, dans l’émoi.
La réputation de cette ville a été ternie par son occupation par des terroristes qui y ont enlève en 2011 un sud-Africain et un Suédois. Ces deux coopérants sont encore entre les mains de l’Al-Qaïda islamique (Aqmi).
Précisons enfin que c’est pour la deuxième fois que Béatrice Stockly est enlevée dans cette ville. Le premier enlèvement était intervenu en avril 2012 par des islamistes. Elle avait été libérée grâce à la médiation du Burkina Faso.
