Ce lundi tôt, des terroristes ont attaqué simultanément une caserne et un poste de police de la ville de Ben Guerdane en Tunisie, une ville de 60.000 habitants située près de la frontière avec la Lybie faisant au moins 45 morts dont 28 jihadistes, 10 policiers et 7 civiles. Les assaillants étaient venus de la Lybie voisine à bord des camions 4×4. La riposte de l’armée tunisienne a permis de blesser six assaillants à en croire Rachid Bouhoula, le chargé de la communication du ministère de la défense et d’ajouter que des patrouilles de l’armée « se sont déployées dans la ville de Ben Guerdane et ont sécurisé ses accès ». La population a été appelée à coopérer avec l’armée en signalant toute présence suspecte.
« Il a été décidé d’imposer à partir d’aujourd’hui (lundi) de 19H00 (18H00 GMT) à 05H00 (04H00) du matin un couvre-feu aux personnes et aux véhicules dans la ville de Ben Guerdane », située près de la frontière avec la Libye » a, par ailleurs, annoncé le ministère de l’Intérieur dans un communiqué.
Le président tunisien Beji Caïd Essebsi a vivement réagit en ces termes : « Les Tunisiens sont en guerre contre cette barbarie et ces rats que nous allons exterminer (…) définitivement »
