Un vaticaniste italien connu pour son sérieux, Marco Tosatti, confirme les indiscrétions parues dernièrement sur le web concernant la préparation d’une messe œcuménique, c’est-à-dire d’une « Prière Eucharistique » qui permette une concélébration commune entre catholiques-protestants-anglicans-orthodoxes. Déjà le pape a accompli un pas en ce sens en autorisant, par son Motu Proprio Magnum Principum, les différentes conférences épiscopales à faire leur propre traduction des textes liturgiques, Rome ne conservant que le rôle de les ratifier et non plus celui de vérifier leur fidélité au texte original. Ce qui permettra à des conférences épiscopales très protestantisées comme celle Allemande d’acquérir une liberté doctrinale quasi totale en matière liturgique !
Dans un article en anglais intitulé « The war against cardinal Sarah » (La guerre contre le cardinal Sarah) qu’il a ensuite traduit en italien pour le quotidien La Nuovo Bussola, le journaliste révèle qu’une commission est en train d’étudier
« une messe œcuménique qui puisse unir catholiques et protestants. Elle n’a jamais été officialisée mais elle travaille depuis longtemps. C’est un sujet qui dépend des compétences de la Congrégation pour le Culte divin mais le cardinal Sarah n’a même pas été informé de son existence. En ferait partie, selon des sources fiables, le secrétaire de la Congrégation, le britannique Mgr Arthur Roche, qui a des positions opposées à celles de Benoît XVI et du cardinal Sarah. En ferait également partie Mgr Piero Marini, lui-aussi engagé dans le camp des réformateurs liturgiques (il fut le bras droit de Mgr Bugnini, le « créateur » controversé de la nouvelle messe).
A ces noms, continuent Marco Tosatti, on peut ajouter, dans la liste du parti de l’innovation à tout prix, celui du sous-secrétaire au Culte divin, Mgr Corrado Maggioni, et celui d’un liturgiste laïc, Andrea Grillo. […] Il est connu que le pontife n’est pas un expert en liturgie. Et probablement le thème ne l’intéresse pas. Mais son orientation idéologique est progressiste, non traditionnelle, et donc il soutient cette partie de l’Église qui est progressiste. C’est-à-dire les évêques allemands, belges et anglais, et ces personnes qui dans le domaine liturgique sont en faveur des innovations et se battent contre la tradition. »
