Alors que des affrontements ont fait au moins 79 morts et 141 blessés vendredi à Benghazi, dans l’Est libyen, le chef d’une force paramilitaire en Libye s’est dit déterminé à poursuivre son offensive contre ces mêmes milices islamistes. Seul petit problème, les autorités libyennes ont affirmé que son opération était une tentative de coup d’État. Tripoli considère cette offensive comme « un agissement en dehors de la légitimité de l’État et un coup d’État. » Khalifa Haftar est un général à la retraite ayant pris part à la révolte contre le régime de Mouammar Kadhafi en 2011.
Entre islamistes, milices paramilitaires et instabilité politique, la Libye reste toujours aussi chaotique depuis 2011 et sans pouvoir trouver une solution.
