L’acte d’enlèvement a eu lieu ce samedi 04 avril 2015 à Tambao au nord du Burkina-Faso par des hommes enturbannés.
Selon l’AFP, ce Roumain travaillait dans la mine de Tambao comme responsable de la sécurité. Au moment de son enlèvement, il était accompagné d’un gendarme qui a été blessé à la tête, au thorax et au niveau du bassin précise la même source.
Dans un communiqué lu à la télévision nationale, le gouvernement burkinabé a condamné « un acte barbare et lâche » puis a précisé que des investigations sont actuellement en cours en vue de retrouver les assaillants, qui ont pris la fuite en direction de la frontière Burkina-Niger.
Notons que la mine de manganèse de Tambao dispose des réserves estimées à 100 millions de tonnes et que Tambao est situé à environ 350 km à vol d’oiseau de Ouagadougou, la capitale du Burkina-Faso.
