Zambie – Guy Scott, jusqu’ici vice-président zambien, a été nommé président de la Zambie à la suite de la mort du président Michael Sata hier. Il est le premier chef d’Etat blanc en Afrique depuis la fin de l’apartheid.
Le président zambien Michael Sata est décédé hier à l’âge de 77 ans dans un hôpital de Londres. Difficile de savoir qui va lui succéder. Dans les 90 jours, des élections doivent être organisées.
Jusque-là, Guy Scott, d’origine écossaise, siégera en tant que président par intérim.
Guy Scott est né en 1944 en Rhodésie du Nord, l’actuelle Zambie, après que son père ait émigré de Glasgow pour y travailler en tant que médecin.
Guy Scott entre en politique dans les années 90 et devient ministre de l’Agriculture. En 2001, il rejoint le Front patriotique de Michael Sata. Scott était vice-président depuis 2011.
