Le prédicateur égyptien Hani al-Sibaï (54 ans) ainsi que sa femme et ses enfants ont obtenu la citoyenneté britannique. Or, Hani al-Sibaï figure depuis 2005 sur une liste d’islamistes liés au terrorisme et à al-Qaïda recensés par les Nations Unies.
C’est l’un des plus célèbres prédicateurs de haine du Royaume-Uni et il est soupçonné d’avoir eu des liens influents sur Mohammed Emwazi, dit « John le djihadiste », l’un des égorgeurs vedettes de l’Etat Islamique.
Les gouvernements successifs ont envisagé d’expulser al-Sibai depuis près de 20 ans, sans jamais prendre les décisions pour y arriver mais l’expulsion n’est désormais plus envisageable puisque la Haute Cour a décidé de donner la citoyenneté britannique au prédicateur islamiste et à sa famille.
Ils vivent dans l’ouest de Londres.
