Mbuso Mandela est l’un des petits-fils de Nelson Mandela. Âgé de 24 ans, il vient d’être inculpé pour le viol d’une adolescente – blanche – de 15 ans dans les toilettes d’un restaurant de Johannesburg.
Les faits datent d’il y a un peu plus d’une semaine et font les gros titres de la presse sud-africaine.
La famille de la victime s’est dite outrée par le comportement du clan Mandela.
L’adolescente était dans les toilettes femmes lorsque Mbuso Mandela est entré, l’a attrapé et violé à l’intérieur d’un des cabinets de toilettes du restaurant.
Winnie Madikizela-Mandela (seconde épouse de Nelson Mandela) a envoyé l’un de ses hommes de main se faire passer pour un policier auprès de la famille de la victime et tenter de trouver un « arrangement » mais le faux policier a été démasqué par le père de l’adolescente.
Mbuso Mandela a finalement été placé en garde à vue.
« Ils pensent que le fait de porter un nom célèbre peut les exonérer et les affranchir de toutes poursuites criminelles », a déclaré le porte-parole de la famille de la victime.
