La nouvelle provient du magazine conservateur Monde et Vie, la Fraternité Sacerdotale Saint-Pie-X a un nouvel évêque titre-t-il dans l’article suivant :
« Cela fait plusieurs mois que Mgr Huonder, l’évêque de Coire (Suisse), envisageait de prendre sa retraite auprès de la Fraternité Saint-Pie-X. Cette fois, c’est officiel. Mgr Huonder, réputé conservateur, est non seulement un ami de la FSSPX, mais il est un proche du pape François, lequel avait refusé sa démission en 2017. Autrement dit, on peut se retirer auprès de la FSSPX comme auprès de n’importe quelle congrégation religieuse ! D’après nos informations, Mgr Huonder prendrait sa retraite au sein d’une école tenue par la Fraternité en Suisse. Bref, une illustration de ce « statut par morceaux », dont jouit la Fraternité. Avec l’aval du pape des périphéries. Voilà une preuve supplémentaire de la normalisation de la FSSPX. »
Le blog Le Salon Beige précise :
« Il est évident que Mgr Huonder ne part pas dans un esprit de dissidence et que le pape a avalisé son projet. Cette annonce ne fait que corroborer le mouvement de normalisation de la Fraternité Saint-Pie X qui s’est amorcé il y a vingt ans et qui est désormais presque entièrement entériné depuis que le pape a accordé la juridiction sacramentelle pour les sacrements administrés pour la Fraternité Saint-Pie X ces dernières années. »

Après l’expulsion en 2012 de la FSSPX de Mgr Williamson, un des quatre évêques sacrés par Mgr Lefebvre, fondateur de la FSSPX, pour son opposition à une reconnaissance canonique pratique par la Rome moderniste sans au préalable un accord doctrinal, la Fraternité se retrouve à nouveau, en quelque sorte, avec 4 évêques, avec la bénédiction du pape François semble-t-il. Reste à connaître si Mgr Huonder, évêque certes conservateur mais conciliaire et toujours attaché à Vatican II et à la nouvelle messe, proche tout particulièrement de la Fraternité Saint-Pierre, dispensera des sacrements aux fidèles de la Fraternité…
