Le 28 février 2016, le grand défilé en faveur de la vie a eu lieu dans les rues de Managua, capitale du Nicaragua. Cette manifestation a été organisée par plusieurs groupes et associations rattachés à l’archidiocèse de la ville.
Selon la presse locale, on compte plusieurs milliers de personnes à s’être déplacées pour se rendre à ce grand rassemblement en faveur de la protection de la vie de l’enfant à naître.
Pour Bismarck Schmidt, organisateur général du « Défilé pour la Vie », « la manifestation de cette année a été la plus réussie, la plus joyeuse et la plus nombreuse qu’il n’ait jamais eue au Nicaragua ». « La plupart des participants c’étaient des jeunes et adolescents », a-t-il ajouté avec satisfaction.
A la fin du défilé, l’évêque moderniste du lieu, Mgr Silvio Fonseca, a déclaré que « le Nicaragua doit toujours dire OUI à la vie et NON à la culture de la mort financée par les associations étrangères ».
« Il y a une pression, une vraie politique anti natalité et pro avortement. C’est pourquoi nous devons garder tout le temps un œil sur les lois qui puissent ouvrir une porte à l’avortement dans le pays », a-t-il conclu.
