Fin de mandat difficile pour Marie-Josée Roig, maire UMP d’Avignon depuis 18 ans. Elle est éclaboussée par un scandale. Entre 2007 et 2012, alors qu’elle était député, elle aurait fait bénéficier son fils d’un emploi fictif d’attaché parlementaire – avec un salaire mensuel de 5.200 euros à la clé – alors que personne ne l’ajamais vu dans les couloirs du Palais Bourbon.
A 75 ans, l’ancienne ministre de Jacques Chirac se retire de la vie politique sur la pointe des pieds et dans le déshonneur. Mais depuis, c’est la débâcle à l’UMP.
Bernard Chaussegros a reçu l’investiture de l’UMP pour les municipales de 2014. Et Jean-François Copé est venu sur place l’assurer de son soutien.
Mais de son côté, Frédéric Rogier, ancien adjoint au maire, a lancé « Avignon Renouveau ». Il y a quelques jours, il a créé l’événement en rencontrant Jean-Marie Le Pen en tête à tête dans un salon de l’hôtel Courtyard Mariott de Montpellier. Frédéric Rogier dément mais personne n’est dupe. Alliance en vue ? L’avenir le dira…
Quant au Sénateur UMP Alain Dufaut – qui avait participé à la manifestation Civitas contre l’exposition Piss Christ en avril 2011 -, il a fait savoir qu’il ne soutiendrait pas le candidat investi par Copé.
