Le premier-ministre turc Erdogan a pris la décision, le 20mars dans la soirée, de bloquer l’accès de Twitter en Turquie. Pour cela, il a demandé à tous les fournisseurs d’accès à internet de son pays d’empêcher la connexion des internautes à ce site.
Pour exercer cette censure il a pris prétexte du fait que le réseau social avait refusé de supprimer des articles et fichiers l’impliquant dans de vastes scandales de corruption.
Cependant, cette décision radicale du premier-ministre Turc n’a pas obtenue les résultats escomptés, les internautes ayant pour la plupart trouvés rapidement le moyen de contourner efficacement cette censure.
Quant à la France dans tout ça, quand on connait l’opinion des médias de masse sur ce genre de pratique, on ne s’étonne pas de n’en avoir pour ainsi dire pas entendu parler.
Un « blackout » sur l’information que l’on peut illustrer d’une citation très instructive du journaliste Christophe Barbier, directeur de la rédaction de l’Express, dans le cadre de l’affaire Dieudonné, il y a quelques mois à peine.
