Le journal Le Parisien signale des violences inter-ethniques qui ont opposé des dizaines de Turcs et de Kurdes dimanche soir dans le quartier du Val-Fourré à Mantes-la-Jolie, peu après l’annonce du résultat des élections présidentielle et législatives en Turquie où le président sortant Erdogan a rapidement proclamé sa victoire. Certains des participants à cette rixe étaient armés de barres de fer, de sabres ou de bâtons.
Des vidéos montrent comment tout a commencé lorsque des automobilistes ont klaxonné en arborant le drapeau turc devant des cafés kurdes. Ils ont alors été pris à partie par des inconnus qui ont estimé être provoqués. Deux cafés turcs ont ensuite été attaqués.
Ces tensions inter-ethniques sont suivies de près par les services de police et de renseignements.
Une intervention musclée des forces de l’ordre en grand nombre fut nécessaire pour parvenir à disperser la foule.
