C’est le ministre tunisien chargé de la société civile , Kamel Jendoubi qui a livré cette information au cours d’une conférence de presse : « Tout le réseau derrière l’opération a été découvert ». Les autorités tunisiennes font état de l’arrestation de huit personnes dont une femme, en relation directe avec l’exécution de l’attentat qui a fait 38 morts vendredi dernier sur une plage d’un hôtel en bord de mer en Tunisie. Les autorités ont de plus révélé que Seifeddine Rezgui âgé de 23 ans, l’auteur de cet attentat, avait appris le maniement des armes en Libye et il est possible qu’il y ait rencontré les deux auteurs de l’attentat contre le musée du Bardo à Tunis qui avait fait 22 morts dont 21 touristes et un policier tunisien le 18 mars. L’attaque du Bardo, qui avait profondément choqué la Tunisie, en proie à une progression de la mouvance jihadiste depuis la révolution de 2011 qui a chassé le dictateur Ben Ali, avait déjà été revendiquée par l’EI.
Kamel jendoubi a encore annoncé que « Dans le cadre de la coopération sécuritaire entre la Tunisie et la Grande-Bretagne, 10 enquêteurs britanniques enquêtent sur l’attentat » en Tunisie.
De plus, des mesures spécifiques ont été prises pour protéger les sites touristiques : «il y a eu le déploiement de 1.377 agents sécuritaires armés supplémentaires dans les établissements hôteliers et sur les plages», a ajouté Kamel Jendoubi.
