Chine – La seule église catholique dans la ville chinoise de Zhifang (dans le district de Huyi), près de Xian (Shaanxi) a été démolie sur ordre des autorités sans fournir aucune raison. L’église avait été construite il y a presque 20 ans avec tous les permis du bureau pour les questions religieuses.
Depuis son ouverture en 1999, ce lieu de culte accueillait les fidèles catholiques qui venaient parfois de fort loin puisque l’église était située près de l’autoroute Beijing-Kunming, près de la sortie Zhifang sur l’autoroute Xian-Hanzhong.
Mais les autorités chinoises ont émis une simple notification de destruction en date du 20 décembre 2017 qui a été exécutée dans l’après-midi du 27 décembre. Les objets liturgiques et tout ce que contenait l’église ont été emportés dans des camions.
Et la police interdisait aux fidèles d’approcher du lieu de culte dès que l’ordre de destruction a été transmis.
Les fidèles ont néanmoins courageusement organisé des manifestations devant la municipalité locale, mais jusqu’à présent sans être aucunement écoutés.
