Invité de l’émission de Thierry Ardisson sur C8, Salut les Terriens, le couturier des stars et de la jet-set Karl Lagerfeld a créé le malaise. Interrogé par le présentateur à propos d’un dessin publié dans un journal allemand sur lequel on voit Hitler remercier Angela Merkel « d’avoir par inadvertance permis à (ses) descendants d’être représentés au Parlement », référence à la percée de l’Afd lors des élections législatives de septembre conséquence de la désastreuse campagne immigrationniste de Merkel, Lagerfeld a fait un commentaire… inouï :
« Je vais dire une horreur. […] Elle [la chancelière] n’avait pas besoin de se taper un million en plus [sic], pour se donner une image charmante, après l’image de marâtre qu’elle s’était donnée dans l’histoire de la crise grecque. C’est un peu ça. Tout à coup, la fille de pasteur ressort.
« On ne peut pas, même s’il y a des décennies entre [les deux événements], tuer des millions de juifs pour faire venir des millions de leurs pires ennemis après.
Vous savez on demande aux gens de prendre des jeunes gens. Je connais quelqu’un en Allemagne qui a pris un jeune Syrien qui parlait un peu anglais. Au bout de quatre jours, vous savez ce qu’il a dit à la dame : « Vous savez finalement la meilleure invention de l’Allemagne c’est l’holocauste. » Il était dans la rue dans la minute qui suit, je vous le dis tout suite. »
