Nouvelle folie islamiste, cette fois-ci à Sydney en Australie. Au cri d’« Allah Akbar », un homme armé d’un couteau de cuisine a semé la terreur dans les rues du centre de Sydney. Il a poignardé divers passants réussissant à tuer une femme et blesser plusieurs personnes avant d’être paralysé par des citoyens courageux qui sont intervenus dès qu’ils ont compris la gravité de la situation.
Selon des témoins, l’homme marchait dans la rue un couteau à la main en criant « Allah Akbar » et les vêtements tâchés de sang. Il venait de blesser sérieusement une femme dans un hôtel. Sa victime a été secourue et emmenée à l’hôpital, ses conditions sont graves mais stables.
Ce n’est que par la suite, après la mise hors d’état de nuire du tueur, que le cadavre d’une femme a été découvert dans une des rues adjacentes au centre de la ville. Selon le Guardian Australia ce crime est à mettre en relation avec cette attaque islamiste.
Le policier australien Gavin Wood a cependant déclaré que les forces de l’ordre ne sont pas encore sûres du motif de cette agression mortelle.
