El Tribunal Constitucional (TC) realizó una audiencia solemne en el Aula Magna de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), a la que asistió el presidente Leonel Fernández. En el discurso de apertura, el presidente del TC, Milton Ray Guevara, consideró que constituye un acto de justicia celebrar esa importante ceremonia en la alta casa de estudio, lugar donde el 9 de octubre de 2006 se abrió el proceso de reforma de la Constitución mediante consulta popular sin precedentes con un discurso a la nación por el presidente Fernández.
