Un couple catholique africain a demandé vendredi à l’Église d’« engager une contre-offensive déterminée » contre l’introduction du « mariage » homosexuel en Afrique, plusieurs évêques africains critiquant, lors du synode sur la famille, l’importation sur leur continent de conceptions occidentales.
Devant près de 200 pères synodaux, Léon et Valentine Botolo, de République démocratique du Congo, mariés depuis 40 ans, ont demandé à Rome d’inciter « les Églises locales d’Afrique à engager une contre-offensive déterminée, en vue de résister aux pressions des gouvernements occidentaux et des organisations non gouvernementales internationales, visant à faire adopter le mariage homosexuel aux pays africains ».
Il faut « qu’il soit bien entendu que l’Afrique a ses problèmes propres et ses préoccupations prioritaires qui ne sont pas ceux de l’Occident. L’homosexualité n’est pas vraiment une priorité mortelle pour nos sociétés », a ajouté ce couple, en énumérant divers facteurs de déstabilisation de la famille africaine « comme l’impact négatif des us et coutumes, le trafic des enfants, les grands défis de l’éducation ».
« L’Église, ont-ils demandé, doit donner clairement sa position sur les questions liées au « genre », face à la grande offensive des organisations internationales qui font adopter, sous couvert de programmes de santé et droits reproductifs » des conceptions « contraires à la vision du monde des Africains ».
Les évêques africains reprochent régulièrement une forme de colonialisme culturel et économique de l’Occident -à travers les programmes bilatéraux et multilatéraux (ONU, grandes ONG)– conditionnant l’octroi d’aides à l’acceptation des visions mortifères des pays occidentaux sur la santé reproductive (contraception, avortement, préservatif) et l’homosexualité.
