Belgique – Fouad B., l’individu suspecté d’avoir radicalisé en prison le converti à l’islam Benjamin Herman, auteur de l’attentat terroriste islamiste de Liège du 29 mai dernier, a été interpellé à Ensival (Verviers) mercredi en début d’après-midi par les forces spéciales d’intervention.
Fouad B. avait déjà été condamné à plusieurs reprises pour des faits de vol et de violence. Il fait partie des 25 personnes fichées « radicalisées » de Verviers et avait, malgré cela, bénéficié d’une liberté conditionnelle, mais n’en avait pas respecté les obligations.
Au cours d’un entretien avec des journalistes, Fouad B. avait déclaré vouloir « passer à l’acte« . Les journalistes ont donc prévenu la police, qui a lancé une opération d’envergure pour l’arrêter.
L’intervention s’est déroulée au centre d’Ensival, mercredi en début d’après-midi. Un policier a été blessé par balle à la suite d’un tir accidentel, a précisé le parquet fédéral.
