Suisse – L’Union démocratique fédérale (UDF) a saisi la possibilité de lancer une initiative cantonale pour défendre le mariage et la famille. L’UDF a recueilli les 6000 signatures nécessaires pour organiser une consultation populaire qui vise à inscrire dans la Constitution le mariage comme étant «une communauté de vie entre un homme et une femme, inscrite dans la durée et établie au niveau légal».
L’UDF s’oppose à la polygamie, à la promotion du concubinage et aux unions homosexuelles. L’UDF dispose de cinq sièges dans le canton de Zurich.
Cette mobilisation survient alors que le Conseil fédéral vient d’adopter un rapport concernant la « modernisation de la famille » qui répond notamment à certaines revendications du lobby LGBT.
