Mogadiscio, la capitale somalienne a été secouée par des explosions ayant causé la mort de treize personnes selon Bishaar Abdi Gedi, un responsable de la police somalienne à l’AFP : « Au moins treize personnes ont été tuées dans deux explosions. Un des véhicules a explosé près d’un poste de contrôle et un autre près d’un bâtiment de l’ONU » ajoutant que « les forces de sécurité ont réussi à intercepter les assaillants et à repousser l’attaque ».
Les deux explosions qui ont eu lieu aux abords de locaux de l’ONU et de la force de l’Union africaine en Somalie (Amisom) ont été suivies de tirs éphémères, affirme la même source.
« Vers 9h00 du matin – 6h00 GMT -, il y a eu une explosion en dehors de notre enceinte, à environ 200 mètres. Ça ressemblait à une attaque, ils voulaient attaquer. Maintenant la situation est calme et notre personnel travaille sur ce qui s’est passé », a précisé le porte-parole de l’Amisom, Joe Kibet.
« Les deux explosions ont été menées par deux courageux kamikazes moudjahidines, qui ont ciblé deux endroits différents où les prétendus soldats de maintien de la paix sont basés », ont indiqué dans un communiqué les militants islamistes radicaux Shebab revendiquant cette nouvelle attaque dans la capitale somalienne.
