Suite au grand rassemblement intitulé « Oz ta droite » que le maire de Béziers avait formé au printemps dans sa ville, Robert Ménard, le maire de Béziers annonce qu’il votera pour Marine Le Pen. C’est en effet grâce au soutien du Front national qu’il a remporté la mairie de Béziers. Mais plus largement il appelle à un grand report des voix au second tour sur le (la) candidat (e) qui arrivera en tête de la vraie droite.
« Nicolas Sarkozy, j’ai du mal à voir en quoi il diffère dans ses propositions de Marine Le Pen, dit-il, mais s’il est logique il faut qu’entre lui et Marine Le Pen, celui qui est le premier au premier tour, on appelle à voter pour lui! »
