Depuis plusieurs semaines, le Gabon organise le renvoi des immigrés entrés illégalement sur son territoire.
Le Gabon a notamment renvoyé à Calabar et vers d’autres ports nigérians quelques 617 personnes.
Cette fermeté des autorités gabonaises n’est pas du goût du Nigéria dont le général Abdulrahman Dambazzau, par ailleurs ministre de l’Intérieur, a dénoncé les «conséquences sur la sécurité du pays». Car le Nigéria ne veut pas non plus accueillir ces immigrés africains.
Les immigrés dont il est question proviennent essentiellement du Sénégal, du Burkina Faso, de la République du Bénin, du Niger, du Mali, du Tchad et de la Guinée.
