En visite officielle en France, le président israélien Reuven Rivlin en a profité mercredi pour rencontrer des représentants du culte musulman et prôner le dialogue interreligieux auprès des représentants de la communauté musulmane de France.
Parmi eux figuraient Hassen Chalghoumi, imam de la mosquée de Drancy, l’imam Mohammed Azizi (à la tête de l’AMJF, la ligue d’amitié judéo-musulmane avec le rabbin Michel Serfaty), et le président de l’association des musulmans sénégalais de France, Kemadou Gassama.
Reuven Rivlin a déclaré :
« La croyance qui associe le judaïsme à l’islam doit être la clef de la paix, pas une justification de la violence. Maintenant, alors que le nationalisme et l’extrémisme religieux sont en progression dans le monde et en Occident, votre leadership est fondamental. Ce que vous et les représentants de toutes les communautés dîtes est particulièrement important en ce moment – non à l’antisémitisme, tolérance zéro pour le racisme en tout genre. »
« Mon père, le professeur Joseph Joel Rivlin, un juif pratiquant, a traduit le Coran en hébreu. Sa foi ne l’a pas dérangé, au contraire, elle l’a aidé. »
L’écrivain juif Marek Halter, le grand rabbin de France Haïm Korsia et le président du Crif Francis Kalifat étaient également présents.
L’imam Chalghoumi a qualifié cette rencontre d’ « historique, forte et importante » pour « l’avenir de ces deux communautés, qui sont normalement la richesse de la France mais malheureusement sont devenues le problème de la France (…) ces dernières années ».
« Je suis là pour saluer les efforts que déploie le président israélien pour rassembler juifs et arabes », a également déclaré l’imam Mohammed Azizi.
