Fin août 2015, la France comptait 3.571.600 chômeurs de catégorie A (sans aucune activité professionnelle), soit 156.600 ou 4,6% de plus qu’au mois d’août 2014. En comptant les chômeurs de catégories B et C, ceux qui sont en recherche active d’emploi mais exercent une activité réduite, cela fait 5.420.900 demandeurs d’emploi.

La hausse est plus forte sur un an (+6,7% par rapport à août 2014). Un chômage qui s’éternise, les chômeurs longue durée, depuis plus de trois ans sont 18,6% plus nombreux que l’an dernier. Quant au chômage des seniors, il est de plus en plus répandu : sur un mois il a augmenté de 1,4%, et de 9,4% sur un an.
