Images saisissantes… Cormoran défunté, un bouchon en plastique coincé en travers de la gorge. Continent de plastique dans le vortex Pacifique, d’une superficie de 2 millions de km2 (soit en gros, la superficie de la France, des Iles Britanniques, de l’Espagne, du Portugal, de l’Italie, de la Suisse, du Benelux et de l’Islande réunies)… Et bien sûr, la même rengaine : « tout ça c’est de la faute au méchant mâle blanc capitaliste ». Comme dit le soldat belge : « Halte-là ! »…

Selon l’étude de Jenna R. Jembeck – de l’Université de Géorgie – Plastic Waste Inputs from Land into the Ocean publiée  dans le n°6223 du volume 347 dans la revue Science et datée du 13 février 2015,  qui pollue le plus les océans avec les cochonneries en plastique (l’unité est le million de tonnes, le premier chiffre concerne les déchets plastiques, le second les déchets en mer) ? :

1 – Chine : 8.82/3.53

2 – Indonésie : 3.22/1.29

3 – Philippines : 1.88/0.75

4 – Vietnam1.83/0.73

5 – Sri Lanka : 1.59/0.64

6 – Thaïlande : 1.03/0.41

7 – Egypte : 0.97/0.39

8 – Malaisie : 0.94/0.37

9 – Nigeria : 0.85/0.34

10 – Bangladesh : 0.79/0.31

11 – Afrique du Sud : 0.63/0.25

12 – Inde : 0.69/0.24

13 – Algérie : 0.52/0.21

14 – Turquie : 0.49/0.19

15 – Pakistan : 0.49/0.19

16 – Brésil : 0.47/0.19

17 – Myanmar : 0.46/0.18

18 – Maroc : 0.31/0.12

19 – Corée du Nord : 0.30/0.12

20 – Etats-Unis : 0.28/0.11

Au total, ce sont 275 millions de tonnes de plastique qui dérivent dans les océans. Voici le reste du classement par tranches :

• Moins de 0.25 : le reste des pays non cités au-dessus ou au-dessous.
• Moins de 0.01 : Belgique, Canada, Croatie, Danemark, Emirats Arabes Unis, Estonie, Finlande, Gabon, Groenland, Guyane française, Jordanie, Lituanie, Monténégro, Namibie, Norvège, Nouvelle-Zélande, Oman, Roumanie, Serbie, Suède et Surinam.
• Pays non polluants (pas d’accès à l’océan) : Andorre, Arménie, Autriche, Azerbaïdjan, Bhoutan, Bolivie, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Centrafrique, République Démocratique du Congo, Ethiopie, Hongrie, Kazakhstan, Kirghizistan, Kossovo, Laos, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macédoine du Nord, Malawi, Mali, Moldavie, Mongolie, Népal, Niger, Ouganda, Ouzbékistan, Paraguay, Rwanda, San Marin, Slovaquie, Slovénie, Suisse, Swaziland, Tadjikistan, Tchad, Tchéquie, Turkménistan, Zambie et Zimbabwe.

Bon, si les écolos pouvaient maintenant un peu lâcher la grappe aux pays occidentaux et aller prêcher dans les nations du tiers-monde, cela nous ferait plaisir. Et s’ils pouvaient embarquer avec eux les « féminazes », cela nous ferait encore plus plaisir…
