Nous avions vu dans un précédent article l’évolution des tailles comparée des Néerlandais, Etatsuniens, Kenyans et Chinois. La même source a réalisé une étude sur la taille moyenne des hommes nés en 1996 et ce, pour tous les pays du monde. Les Néerlandais sont, et on s’en serait douté, le peuple le plus grand du monde avec 1m82 de moyenne. A l’opposé, les Yéménites sont les plus petits avec 1m60 de moyenne. Mais je pense que tout homme de guerre préférerait avoir à affronter l’armée néerlandaise que les redoutables guerriers yéménites…
Les hommes faisant plus d’1m80 en moyenne sont concentrés sur l’Europe : Pays-Bas (1m82), Estonie, Danemark, Belgique, Islande, Lettonie, Croatie et Bosnie (1m81), France, Slovénie, Serbie, Allemagne, Suède, Norvège, Finlande et République Tchèque (1m80) .
Dans la fourchette entre 1m80 et 1m77 (en ordre décroissant) : Slovaquie, Australie, Irlande, Lettonie, Belarus, Ukraine, Suisse, Monténégro, Macédoine, Bulgarie, Canada, Etats-Unis, Nouvelle-Zélande, Espagne, Italie, Autriche, Hongrie, Grèce, Pologne, Russie.

Les hommes faisant moins d’1m63 en moyenne sont donc au Malawi, au Népal au Rwanda (1m62), à Madagascar et au Laos (1m61) et enfin au Yémen (1m60).
