« J’ai entendu un tir, je pense qu’il devait être autour de 12h30. Autour de moi, il n’y avait que des policiers. Ils ont immédiatement tous dégainé leur arme. J’ai été très surpris d’entendre ces tirs car ce n’est pas l’endroit où on imagine que ça puisse se produire. J’ai d’abord pensé à un suicide car il y en a beaucoup en ce moment. Et puis quelques instants plus tard j’ai vu des policières en pleurs. Je me suis dit que ça devait être grave. Les policiers étaient en panique, ça courait partout. Beaucoup de personnes étaient en pleurs. », témoigne un policier qui était à ce moment dans la cour de la préfecture de police de Paris.
Dans différents commissariats, on signale une « attaque dans la préfecture de police de Paris », sur l’île de la Cité. Vers 13h35, les premières dépêches font état de la mort de l’assaillant.
Stupéfaction : cet assaillant était un agent administratif de la direction du renseignement de la préfecture de police (DRPP).
Selon Loïc Travers, secrétaire Ile-de-France du syndicat Alliance qui parlait à des journalistes devant la préfecture de police, l’assaillant avait 20 ans d’expérience à la préfecture et ne faisait l’objet d’aucun signalement.
« L’auteur présumé a commencé les faits dans son bureau avant de se rendre dans d’autres endroits de la préfecture. Le mobile, à ce stade, n’est pas connu », explique Loïc Travers.
Le bilan de l’attaque à la préfecture de police de Paris est de cinq morts dont l’agresseur. Une autre personne est blessée.
L’auteur de l’agression a été abattu dans la cour de la préfecture de police par un policier.
