Brésil – Quatre chapelles de la paroisse du Bon Jésus, dans le diocèse d’Iguatu, ont fait l’objet de vandalisme, et dans l’une d’elles l’intrus a profané le Saint-Sacrement.
Le diocèse a rapporté que les faits ont été commis dans la nuit du 2 janvier jusqu’au petit matin du jour suivant.
Des portes ont été démolies, des statues ont été détruites, du matériel a été brisé. Dans la chapelle San Francisco, dans le quartier de San Antonio, le tabernacle, où se trouvaient des hosties consacrées, a été profané.
Le profanateur a été identifié et arrêté le matin et recevra un traitement psychiatrique.
L’évêque diocésain, Mgr Edson de Castro, s’est dit « totalement attristé par cette offense à Jésus ».
Dès que l’évêque sera de retour au diocèse d’Iguatu, un acte de réparation sera prévu, notamment dans la chapelle du quartier de San Antonio, où la profanation a eu lieu.
