A l’occasion de la venue en France du révérend Jesse Jackson, ancien candidat démocrate à l’élection présidentielle américaine, pour la commémoration de l’abolition de l’esclavage, Jean-Marie Le Pen a partagé sur Twitter une photo d’une dédicace : « Jean-Marie et Jany Le Pen, keep hope alive and continue » (« Gardez espoir et continuez »).
Jesse Jackson a réagi en assurant qu’il ne savait pas à qui il avait affaire : « Did not know you were coming to dinner. Never met you before. Do not share your beliefs » (« Je ne savais que vous seriez présent. Je ne vous avais jamais rencontré avant. Je ne partage pas vos opinions »).
Devant ce démenti, Jean-Marie Le Pen a publié une nouvelle photo ce mercredi 11 mai « à l’attention des médias qui parlent de « dîner fantasmé » ».
