La proposition de loi vise à à établir une journée nationale du souvenir de la quatrième génération du feu. 616 soldats français ont perdu la vie sur le théâtre d’opérations extérieures depuis 1962:
« Afin de ne pas les oublier nos soldats tués au combats et de ne pas oublier les 40 000 combattants qui se battent pour la France dans des opérations extérieures depuis 1962, nous souhaitons par cette proposition de loi rendre un juste hommage de la Nation aux soldats de 4e génération du feu en instituant une journée nationale du souvenir.
Pour le quarantième anniversaire de l’hommage à nos parachutistes du Drakkar qui sera célébré cette année par le Ministère des Anciens Combattants, la date du 23 octobre pourrait être proposée comme journée nationale pour les soldats de la quatrième génération du feu. »
Elle est présentée par les députés Lionnel LUCA, Nicolas DHUICQ, Philippe VITEL, Jacques MYARD, Jean-Pierre DECOOL, Patrice MARTIN-LALANDE, Dominique DORD, Bernard PERRUT, Pierre LELLOUCHE, Michèle TABAROT, Jean-Michel COUVE, Rémi DELATTE, Yves FROMION, Michel HERBILLON, Damien ABAD, Camille de ROCCA SERRA, Véronique LOUWAGIE, Philippe GOSSELIN, Josette PONS et Claude STURNI. Elle a été renvoyée à la commission de la défense nationale et des forces armées, à défaut de constitution d’une commission spéciale dans les délais prévus par les articles 30 et 31 du Règlement.
