Dimanche 29 mai, la Fête Dieu a célébré la présence réelle de Jésus-Christ dans l’Eucharistie. Malgré un temps maussade, les fidèles sont venus nombreux à la procession dont la paroisse St Nicolas du Chardonnet perpétue la tradition dans les rues de Paris.
Le parcours a emprunté le pont de l’archevêché, traversé l’île de la cité derrière Notre Dame, est passé par le quai aux fleurs, puis s’est dirigé vers la fontaine St Michel.
Le Saint Sacrement était élevé par un prêtre protégé par un dais, lui-même porté par des hommes.
Les enfants qui avaient fait leur première communion le matin même ont été sollicités afin de lancer des pétales de roses sur le chemin de la procession, tel que la tradition le requiert.
Devant la fontaine St Michel, l’Archange a pu entendre les prières des fidèles agenouillés devant un autel dressé à cette occasion et sur lequel a été posé l’ostensoir.
