Comme chaque 1er mai, Jean-Marie Le Pen a déposé une gerbe de fleurs devant la statue de sainte Jeanne d’Arc, place des Pyramides à Paris. Durant son discours, Jean-Marie Le Pen a réaffirmé que l’incendie de Notre-Dame de Paris était « criminel », et « probablement le fait d’un service ».
« Cette année, deux des grandes églises de Paris ont été l’objet d’incendies dont je pense très sérieusement qu’ils étaient criminels », a déclaré Jean-Marie Le Pen, faisant allusion à l’incendie de Notre-Dame et celui de l’église Saint-Sulpice (dans le VIe arrondissement de Paris), le 17 mars.
Ajoutant que, « de l’avis des spécialistes les plus avertis, l’incendie de Notre-Dame est un incendie criminel car il n’a pu venir inopinément comme cela, sur des poutres qui font un mètre carré de section et qui ont 700 ans ». « Essayez donc de brûler une bûche de chêne et vous verrez ce qu’il faut ! »
« C’est probablement le fait d’un service, car le matériel mis en œuvre et la diffusion de la flamme ont nécessité une organisation qui dépasse sans doute celle d’une initiative personnelle », a-t-il encore déclaré.
