Royaume-Uni – Le député conservateur Jacob Rees Mogg fait l’objet d’une attaque en règle de la part de nombreux médias depuis quelques heures. La raison ? Ce député s’est déclaré fidèle à la doctrine catholique.
Invité sur le plateau de la chaîne ITV, le député Jacob Rees Mogg a notamment été questionné sur l’avortement et le mariage homosexuel, et a répondu sans faiblir.
« Je suis opposé à l’avortement « , a-t-il martelé. Et sur instance du journaliste, il a précisé que même en cas de viol ou d’inceste, l’avortement n’est pas la bonne réponse. Il a encore déclaré que la vie était sacrée et commençait dès la conception de l’enfant.
Ensuite, concernant le « mariage » homosexuel, le parlementaire a répondu : « Je soutiens l’enseignement de l’église catholique« .
Jacob Rees Mogg n’est pas un inconnu de la vie politique britannique. Ce député est également eurosceptique et avait bataillé en faveur du Brexit aux côtés de Nigel Farage.
Jacob Rees Mogg pourrait même prétendre à un poste ministériel lors du prochain remaniement. Autant dire que l’intelligentsia n’est pas très heureuse et fera tout pour empêcher cela.
