La marque Urban Outfitters retire de la vente une étole rayée grise et blanche sur laquelle apparaissait un triangle rose.
Des organisations juives y ont vu trop de similitude avec la tenue des déportés. L’Anti-Defamation League (ADL), liée au B’nai B’rith, a immédiatement fait pression sur la marque de vêtements pour obtenir un retrait immédiat de la vente.
Abraham Foxman, directeur de l’Anti-Defamation League a notamment déclaré :
« Que cela soit intentionnel ou pas, ce modèle gris et blanc associé à un triangle rose est profondément offensant et ne devrait pas être intégré dans la culture populaire »
« Nous exhortons Urban Outfitters de retirer immédiatement ce produit de la vente qui rappelle étrangement les tenues imposées aux déportés homosexuels dans les camps de concentration nazis ».
Il y a quelques mois, la marque Zara qui retirait un vêtement rayé sur lequel apparaissait une étoile jaune de shérif et la marque Mango retirait un chemisier dont le motif était assimilé à un S runique proche du symbole SS.
