Bien entendu, les différentes obédiences maçonniques pèsent lourd dans les débats parlementaires sur la PMA. L’information n’étonnera aucun de nos lecteurs. Mais elle est relevée par le journal La Croix, peu habitué à noter l’influence maçonnique sur la vie parlementaire.
« Cinq loges de la franc-maçonnerie, sur six invitées, sont intervenues aux côtés de la fédération nationale de la Libre-pensée, en tant que « courants philosophiques ». S’il est habituel que les francs-maçons soient entendus par l’Assemblée sur les sujets de société, le nombre invité cette fois-ci peut étonner, surtout en comparaison des représentants de cultes, auditionnés juste avant, et qui n’étaient que trois – sur quatre invités, le CFCM ayant décliné l’invitation. »
La Croix relève également la grande proximité du représentant de la Fédération protestante de France avec la franc-maçonnerie :
« Devant les députés, le pasteur François Clavairoly, représentant la Fédération protestante de France a même formulé clairement le regret qu’ils ne soient pas entendus ensemble. « Il serait intéressant d’associer nos regards spirituels, car la spiritualité fait partie de la maçonnerie », abonde Édouard Habrant, convaincu que religieux et francs-maçons pourraient dégager « certaines perspectives convergentes ». »
La conclusion de La Croix :
« Malgré quelques nuances, les responsables maçonniques se sont tous montrés favorables à l’ouverture de la PMA à toutes les femmes, quand les représentants religieux avaient tous dit leur réticence, à tout le moins. »
