Le ministère des Postes et des Télécommunications de Centrafrique a décidé de suspendre l’utilisation des SMS en Centrafrique jusqu’à nouvel ordre « afin de contribuer à la restauration de la sécurité sur toute l’étendue du territoire », explique-t-il dans une lettre adressée aux directeurs généraux des entreprises de téléphonie mobile. La décision a été prise sur l’intervention du premier ministre et est motivée par la circulation d’un SMS appelant à une opération « ville morte », ce jeudi, lancée par un collectif qui se dit apolitique baptisé « Centrafrique lève-toi ». Les autorités craignent des débordements.
Alors que certaines familles de militaires français craignaient de ne plus pouvoir communiquer avec leurs proches en Centrafrique, la page Facebook Infos des Milis, qui avait remonté le mécontentement de soldats français de l’opération Sangaris, a assuré que les cartes SIM françaises ne sont pas concernées par la mesure. Il faut bien sûr ne pas oublier la surtaxe des opérateurs.
