Aujourd’hui devait avoir lieu le procès d’Asia Bibi devant la cour Suprême du Pakistan. Les magistrats ont, à nouveau, renvoyé l’audience prévue sans donner de dates.
Cette audience, devant la plus haute juridiction du Pakistan, aurait du finalement décider du sort de cette femme chrétienne condamnée par deux fois à la peine de mort pour blasphème envers l’islam. La Cour Suprême a renvoyé le procès car un des trois juges, Iqbal Hamid-ur-Rehman, a renoncé au cas.
Même si légalement, selon l’avocat d’Asia Bibi, Saiful Malook, il n’y a pas de preuves suffisantes pour condamner sa cliente, personne ne semble vouloir prendre la responsabilité de l’acquitter. Peut-être par peur d’être dans la ligne de mire des extrémistes islamistes comme le gouverneur du Punjab, Salman Taseer , assassiné en 2011 pour avoir défendu cette mère de famille chrétienne. Shahbaz Bhatti, le premier et unique ministre des minorités du Pakistan, subit lui-aussi, toujours en 2011, la même mort pour les mêmes raisons. De quoi effrayer les juges pakistanais de la Cour Suprême !
Asia Bibi continuera donc à dormir en prison, dans un grand isolement de peur qu’elle ne soit assassinée. Avec, encore, cette condamnation à la peine capitale sur les épaules ! Un véritable calvaire pour cette chrétienne pakistanaise.
