Même si l’Eglise catholique est en crise et que les sectes protestantes ne sont pas en meilleure état, il reste encore des endroits du monde où la parole du Christ se répand :
En Amérique, le christianisme progresse en République Dominicaine, au Guatemala, au Honduras, au Panama, au Venezuela, au Guyana, au Surinam, en Bolivie et en Argentine.
En Europe, il progresse au Luxembourg, en Estonie, en Lituanie, en Ukraine et en Croatie.
En Afrique, il progresse au Niger, au Tchad, au Congo, en Tanzanie, au Mozambique, au Malawi, au Botswana, au Lesotho et au Swaziland.
Pour l’Asie, il progresse en Turquie, au Tadjikistan, au Bahreïn, aux Emirats Arabes Unis, en Chine, au Japon, en Corée du Sud, à Taïwan, au Myanmar, en Thaïlande, au Vietnam et en Indonésie.
On remarque que ces pays répondent à divers critères, mais que quatre grandes tendances se dessinent :
– Percée dans la zone des spiritualités asiatiques de type bouddhiste, des passerelles communes pouvant faciliter les passages (moines, notion de péchés capitaux, importance de la méditation) : Japon, Thaïlande, Corée du Sud, Taiwan.
– Percée dans les anciens ou actuels pays communistes où l’Eglise fut persécutée : Estonie, Ukraine, Lituanie, Croatie, Tadjikistan, Chine, Myanmar, Vietnam.
– Percée dans le monde musulman, soit par apport d’immigrés chrétiens (pays du Golfe), soit par conversion : Turquie, Mali, Niger, Tchad, Tanzanie, Bahreïn, Emirats Arabes Unis, Indonésie.
– Revitalisations de nations chrétiennes : le reste.
