Le Professeur Alain Blondy a enseigné pendant plus de trente ans au CELSA (Paris-IV), ainsi qu’à l’université de Malte. Il est considéré comme l’un des spécialistes actuels du monde méditerranéen.
Au cours des siècles, l’être humain a développé son intelligence et sa raison pour lui permettre de mieux agir. Cette longue marche commence dès l’Antiquité grecque. Mais à partir du XIXe siècle; les idées ont cessé progressivement d’être des outils pour devenir des croyances et les idéologies ont tendu à vouloir remplacer les religions. Le divin a été délaissé pour le prétendu intellectuel.
Depuis toujours, les hommes se sont servis des rêves et des idées, mais à ces dernières ils se sont évertués de conférer une apparence scientifique qui leur donne une impression d’efficacité, quelquefois dans le domaine du possible, souvent dans celui du probable.
Cet ouvrage aborde l’histoire de la pensée politique de façon chronologique, car les idées humaines dépendent principalement de deux facteurs : d’une part, la nature humaine, limitée par la capacité de l’activité cérébrale et par la relative circonscription des réactions psychologiques et, d’autre part, l’avancement technologique de l’environnement humain à chaque instant donné. Du monde grec de l’Antiquité au matérialisme hédoniste contemporain, nous suivons les idées politiques qui ont façonné l’histoire de l’humanité.
