L’armée française emploie quatre aigles, d’Artagnan, Athos, Porthos et Aramis pour attaquer les drones qui entrent dans l’espace aérien français.
Les terroristes de Daech s’entraînent aux attentats à l’aide de drones, l’Élysée voit de plus en plus de drones le survoler, l’armée française devait réagir.
Les militaires ont choisi d’utiliser une expérience de la police néerlandaise : recourir à des aigles pour neutraliser ces machines volantes sans avoir à utiliser des armes à feu, difficilement employables en zone urbaine. Un aigle correctement entraîné ne pose aucune menace pour les humains et abat le drone ennemi sans coup férir. L’aigle repère le drone à plus de deux kilomètres de distance et le fait chuter en quelques secondes. Avec une vue quatre fois plus perçante que celle des humains, une poigne 10 fois plus forte, l’aigle est un adversaire redoutable pour les machines volantes non grata.
Les aigles sont, bien entendu, équipés d’une protection spéciale sur leurs têtes et leurs serres afin d’éviter d’être blessés. Ils sont aujourd’hui basés à Mont-de-Marsan, une des cinq bases ayant une fauconnerie en France. Bientôt, avec de nouveaux aigles à l’entraînement, tout le territoire sera protégé.
